Ya se que deberia haber escrito algo hace ya un monton de tiempo, pero la verdad es que no he podido. En mi vida no ha pasado nada o casi nada interesante, asi que para decir vulgaridades...Lo mas interesante que me ha pasado ha sido la visita de Josu Iztueta, un Vasco que lleva media vida haciendo travesias con esquis y a quien de pura casualidad he conocido en mi bar de hielo. Vino con su libro debajo del brazo y empezo regalandomelo, lo cual es un detalle inmenso. Su libro se titula "Trilogia en Escandinavia" y aunque esta casi descatalogado, me suena haberlo visto en Desnivel. Os lo recomiendo.
Por otra parte lo que ha sucedido fuera de las 4 paredes donde paso el verano trabajando, ya lo sabreis vosotros mejor que yo, no? Mucha crisis y noticias de montaña, nefastas. En cuanto a la crisis, afortunadamente mi negocio ha ido mejor que nunca, pero me preocupa el futuro, sobre todo porque quiero ampliar.
En cuanto a las malas noticias de montaña, empezaron por un tipo al que yo escribia (Dario Bracali) y al que tenia aprecio, aun sin conocernos personalmente. Siguio con lo de Iñaky Otxoa de Olza y acaba con Rolf Bae, el mas aventajado explorador polar Noruego de su generacion y al que seguia muy de cerca. Sus actividades siempre me han parecido cañerisimas y la manera de ejecutarlas rozaban la perfeccion. Ahora resulta que hay gente que anda diciendo que eran todos turistas los que han muerto alli arriba en el K2. No creo que Rolf se merezca precisamente ese adjetivo, muy usado para denostar siempre a alguien, porque?
Y para terminar, hace un par de dias, me ha llegado un libro, al que tenia enormes ganas de hincarle el diente. Un libro que relata un viaje al Chang Tang (Tibet) y se titula "The Big Open" con fotos de Galen Rowel. Algun dia me gustaria cruzar ese enorme plateau, donde no habitan ni siquiera los nomadas Tibetanos. De momento leo por las mañanas con una taza de cafe entre las manos y dejo volar mi imaginacion. Dentro de poco Hilo y yo estaremos cruzando Spitzbergen, solo quedan 7 meses para que nuestro viaje arranque.
