Hola a todos.
Tras varios dias de incertidumbre, deciros que Hilo y José han acabado esta noche su aventura Svalbard 2009.
17 dias de temperaturas extremas,12 de ellos entre -24º y -32º y vientos de 50-60kms/hora constantes, han hecho finalizar el viaje hoy dia 17 Abril.
Han tomado la decisión porque ya no tenía sentido seguir en las condiciones en que se encontraban,con las previsiones que se esperaban, con parte del material destrozado por el temporal y porque sobretodo, desde hace dos o tres dias Hilo tenía "tocados" por congelaciónes varios dedos de manos y pies y gran parte de la cara.Y eso es lo primero.
La primera parada ha sido el hospital de Longyearbyen, a donde les han llevado directamente.Tras examinar a Hilo los médicos dicen que las congelaciones no revisten gravedad.Jose está bien.
Ahora que hemos podido hablar con ellos más tranquilamente hemos conocido muchas cosas que no supimos durante el viaje por los problemas con el satelital: rompieron 3 fijaciones, partidos los esquies de José(las dos tablas),etc etc.
Hace un rato han hablado con la patrulla de rescate que les informaba de lo extremo que está siendo este invierno; han realizado 38 rescates esta temporada,alguno de ellos a expediciones noruegas conocidas por muchos.Consideran que Hilo y José están "estupendamente" si han pasado 17 dias en esa zona, que han tenido mucha suerte.
Por todo esto Hilo y Jose, a pesar del paso por el hospital, están contentos y satisfechos por lo hecho y lo vivido.
Asi que tras la gran aventura sólo cabe VERLA y compartirla.Me decía Jose hace un rato que tienen fotos y videos impresionantes de la expedición.
Mañana estarán en Longyearbyen haciendo trámites de vuelos, etc para regresar Hilo a su casa en Madrid y Jose a su casa en el Cabo Norte y recuperarse un poco, y comer.
Ellos os avisarán de cuándo y dónde podréis ver las imágenes completas pero con seguridad que en este blog empezaréis a verlas pronto y os contarán como ha sido todo.
No sabemos mucho más. Tras hospital y dejar el material han ido directo, sin alojarse ni ducharse, al bar en "Lonchas" a comer!!.Cuando han visto la hamburguesa caliente llegar a la mesa, nos han dejado con la palabra en la boca,claro.
