Los noruegos son, por naturaleza, tranquilos pero son ya victimas del miedo y casi del pánico y llenan las farmacias de la principales ciudades en busca del famoso Tamiflú - el más eficaz antiviral contra el virus de la gripe porcina- y de mascarillas. Sanidad ha advertido que tal medicamento no evita el contagio sino que tan sólo alivia los síntomas de las personas ya infectadas y en una reunión de emergencia con la clase médica, les insta a no recetar dicho fármaco excepto casos imprescindibles. Hay que guardar lo que hay, por si acaso. Hoy sabemos que hay 1,4 millones de dosis.
El Ministro Bjarne Hakon Hanssen continúa diciendo que aunque no existe aun la vacuna, Noruega ha hecho ya un pre-encargo de varios millones de dosis, que supondrían 2 dosis por persona, la vacunación total de la población.
Pero los noruegos no olvidan la Fiebre Española de 1918 y han hecho sus cuentas. Si la actual pandemia fuera equivalente a la de entonces, 1,2 millones de noruegos estarían afectados y morirían 13.000 de ellos. Y no olvidemos que la población noruega no llega a los 5 millones.

Si el virus llega en avión, estamos a miles de kms de aeropuertos “potencialmente peligrosos” y si se transmite por contacto, las posibilidades se reducen aún más porque aquí, en el último rincón de Europa, sólo vive 1 habitante por kilómetro cuadrado.
Quizás no sea tan malo vivir en un pueblo remoto....
